Sid Sellers, a veteran hunter and longtime hunter safety instructor founded Outdoor Buddies after Craig Rehabilitation Hospital contacted him about helping wheelchair-bound patients resume the hunting and fishing trips they once enjoyed.

Funded entirely by donations and grants, the program relies on volunteer hunters and anglers to assist in putting together hunting and fishing excursions.
