Launched in 1984, Outdoor Buddies is a nonprofit organization, relying on volunteer hunters and anglers who help mobility disabled individuals and disadvantaged youths enjoy the best of what Colorado's natural resources have to offer.

For the mobility disabled, the program gives them a chance to take part in outdoor adventures some thought they'd never be able to do again.

Outdoor Buddies provides experienced able-bodies (Able-Buddies) to accompany the disabled (Handi-Buddies) on a one-to-one basis. This provides the support that is required for safety and success.

Sid Sellers, a veteran hunter and longtime hunter safety instructor founded Outdoor Buddies after Craig Rehabilitation Hospital contacted him about helping wheelchair-bound patients resume the hunting and fishing trips they once enjoyed. Unfortunatly Sid passed away recently but his hard work and dedication live on in the volunteers and participants of the outdoor buddies program.
